Smart Fields Summit 2014

MIMOSA will participate in the Smart Fields Summit 2014 scheduled for January 27-28 in Houston, Texas. Alan Johnston, MIMOSA President, will present and discuss the Oil and Gas Interoperability (OGI) Pilot, which has become the major industry driven activity to achieve sustainable interoperability between key systems of systems used within the Oil and Gas industry and related industries. At this conference, Mr. Johnston will show and discuss the applicability of the OGI Pilot™ to the Upstream Sector.

ISO TC 184/WG 6 Meeting

An ISO TC 184/WG 6 Meeting will be held in conjunction with the upcoming ISO TC 184 Plenary Meetings. NEMA is hosting both meetings at its offices in Rosslyn, VA (Suburban Washington D.C.). The ISO TC 184 Plenary is scheduled to end at noon on Dec 18. The ISO TC 184/WG 6 Meeting will be held in the same room, with a planned starting time of 1:00 PM on Dec 18. The WG 6 meeting will continue through 5 PM on Dec 18 and then resume at 9:00 AM on Dec 19 with a plan to end the meeting by 4:00 PM. In addition to the registered experts, all interested parties are encouraged to attend. We will plan on making provisions for participation via a Web Conference and we will provide the details for that information at a later time.

MIMOSA 2013 Members Meeting

MIMOSA will hold its 2013 Annual Business Meeting at 1300 S. Grove St. in Barrington, IL on Dec 11, 2013 from 9:00 AM until 5:00 PM CST. There will also be planning sessions for our 2014 activities on the following morning, Dec 12 from 9:00 AM until 12:00 PM. We encourage participation in the business meeting from all of our members in good standing. A GoToMeeting Web Conference will be provided for the meeting for those who cannot attend in person.

MIMOSA is pleased to have Applied Technology Publications, The Manufacturing Connection and Physical Asset Lifecycle host our meetings as part of a long and continuing relationship with the publishers of these industry focused media. While MIMOSA has met in alignment with the MARTS Conference for many of the past 8 years, we are working to have an even stronger alignment with the industry media teams as they move forward incorporating Life-cycle Physical Asset Management, Asset Performance Management and the Automation and Control Community in support of key MIMOSA led interoperability activities such as the OGI Pilot. In this regard, MIMOSA will be finalizing our plans for 2014 during these meetings with public announcements to follow shortly thereafter.

PCA Asia Pacific Forum

MIMOSA will once again be part of the PCA Asia Pacific Forum to be held in the Intercontinental Hotel in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia Oct 21-22, 2013. Alan Johnston, the MIMOSA President, will present and discuss the Oil and Gas Interoperability (OGI) Ecosystem, the OGI Pilot and the associated ISO OGI Technical Specification.

Fiatech Members Meeting

MIMOSA is participating in the 2013 Fiatech Members Meeting. This meeting brings together both Fiatech members and various industry partners including MIMOSA and POSC Caesar Association (PCA). MIMOSA and PCA are collaborating in several activities which are focused on Standards Based Interoperability, with a particular focus on the OGI Pilot and closely related industry standards and ISO activities. The following presentation is a joint presentation provided by MIMOSA, Fiatech and NIST with a focus on the synergies between the Fiatech Equipment Data Requirements and Conformance (EDRC) project and the OGI Pilot.

Energistics PRODML SAM Workshop

MIMOSA is an invited guest at the Energistics PRODM SAM Workshop. MIMOSA and Energistics are both founding members of the Standards Leadership Council and we are thus committed to collaboration with each other resulting in using each others key standards rather than ‘re-inventing’ wheels. In this case, the discussion is about how the PRODML SAM team can leverage the MIMOSA CCOM Asset Object Model.

Standards Leadership Council

The China National Institute of Standardization is hosting the Standards Leadership Council for a key oil and gas industry standards day. MIMOSA is a founding member of the Standards Leadership Council based on its lengthy history of work in the oil and gas industry, the MIMOSA CCOM Asset Object Model, the OpenO&M Specifications and the OGI Pilot and OGI Ecosystem. The following presentation provides an overview of those key contributions to the effort.

Maintenance and Reliability Technology Summit (MARTS)

Cliff Pedersen, Chief Information Officer at North West Redwater Partnership (Retired) and Owner/Operator Leadership Council participant, along with Alan Johnston, MIMOSA President will be Keynote Speakers on May 2 at the MARTS Conference. Their joint presentation is entitled ‘How Can IT Better Support Maintenance?’ and it will focus on how methods and standards being proven through the OGI Pilot contribute to more effective Maintenance and also overall plant, platform and facilities Operational Excellence. We would like to encourage our members and website registrants to attend this event to learn more about linking the OGI Pilot work to practical O&M performance improvements.

MIMOSA and PCA Owner/Operator Forum – Americas 2013

The Forum will feature presentations and discussion from owner/operators and invited guests (principally EPCs and standards team leaders as well as FIATECH) identifying key business requirements and solutions leveraging open, supplier neutral standards, with a focus on the benefits of using OpenO&M/MIMOSA and ISO 15926/PCA Reference Data Library in coordinated fashion.
